The 2008 Artist Workshop /Paint-out is scheduled for August 17-24, 2008 and my 2008 Artist Mentored Session is scheduled for August 27-September 3, 2008, at The historic Fairmont Algonquin Hotel & Resort.

The Fairmont Algonquin is an elegant resort hotel located in St Andrews-by-the-Sea, a picturesque coastal village on Passamaquoddy Bay. A maritime tradition in its second century of impeccable hospitality, The Fairmont Algonquin blends old world charm with modern luxury.

The historic coastal town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea also offers a wealth of seaside opportunities to complement your visit. The Bay of Fundy is one of the marine wonders of the world and just a short walk from The Fairmont Algonquin, as are numerous other historical and natural attractions, including Campobello Island and the Atlantic Salmon Interpretive Centre. Whatever St Andrews attractions you wish to visit, everything is within easy reach of The Fairmont Algonquin.

After a day of painting the inspiring landscape, seascape and all the pre-scouted sight to maximize painting time, participants will reside in superior accommodations and reflect on their days work. In the evenings the attending artists are welcomed to participate in critiques, conversation and camaraderie.

En Plein Air Masters programs are designed with the guidance of highly respected master artists, to foster artistic discovery, independence and fellowship. The intimate, inspiring setting allows participants to immerse themselves in their work with like-minded individuals.

Artist Workshop / Paint-out • August 17-24, 2008 - $2,250
The artist-instructors conduct a typical workshop that is followed by painting in the open air. You are provided with technical instruction geared to your level of expertise and an inspiring environment in which to develop your skills. Although critiques primarily are on a group basis, individual critiques are also available.

Artist Mentored Session • August 27-September 3, 2008 - $4,250
This week is limited to six artists and provides the stimulation, inspiration and atmosphere to set student as peer. A student is soon following their own course, as mentors share their knowledge, career advice, and a critical professional review of each student’s work on a group and individual basis.

Artists reside at The Fairmont Algonquin, an elegant resort hotel in St Andrews-by-the-Sea, a picturesque coastal village on Passamaquoddy Bay. The evenings feature critiques, conversation and camaraderie, where you are encouraged to explore this unique historical environment, to capture visions of your own.
